Time & Leisure Wimbledon give the thumbs up to Dermapen Micro-needling
When the Editor of Time & Leisure magazine, Maxine Briggs told us she wanted a non-invasive treatment for skin rejuvenation, we didn’t hesitate to recommend one of our newest treatments – Dermapen Micro-needling.
For those living and working in Wimbledon, you’ll already be familiar with Time & Leisure, the area’s premier monthly magazine packed full of local information including the best places to shop, dine and pamper.
Having already been well-aware of the needling phenomenon from her friends who are fans of the Derma Roller, which involves a roller with needles that you roll over your skin to encourage collagen production. For a needle-phobic like Maxine, that sounded just a little too drastic, so she was thrilled to find that Eden Skin Clinic offer Dermapen, a gentle alternative which was produces the same results. Maxine couldn’t wait to give it a try.
“Dermapen is ideal for treating fine lines, wrinkles, stretch marks and pigmentation”
Maxine visited our Wimbledon clinic and saw therapist Adele Coles, who won Merton Business Awards Employee of the Year – and in Maxine’s words…
“I can see why. She is very experienced and explained the procedure fully before we went ahead” says Maxine.
In her review, Maxine says “A gel is applied to the face and then the treatment starts. A small pen glide over the face pricking the top layer of the skin with 12 tiny needles measuring between 0.5 mm and 1mm and there is no bleeding or discomfort. The whole procedure lasts around 30 minutes, with a nourishing and soothing face mask packed with peptides and vitamins applied afterwards. Dermapen is ideal for treating fine lines, wrinkles, stretch marks and pigmentation”.
“My face looked plumper instantly”
We caught up with Maxine after the treatment and she told us her “face looked plumper instantly, like I’d had several good nights’ sleep”. What about two-weeks after the treatment? Maxine told us – and mentions in her review. “The plumping effect is still there and the results just get better with time. There’s a little redness for the first day after the treatment but nothing a little tinted moisturiser wouldn’t cover up. However, Adele does suggest that you leave a good five days between a treatment and a big occasion, in case there is any skin shedding or irritation but I experienced very little at all”.
“Overall Dermapen is a great non-invasive treatment”
So what’s the final verdict on Dermapen? “This is a great treatment for needle-phobics like me! Go try it!”
